A large Korean cosmetic manufacturer acquires Indonesian halal certification aiming at Muslim consumers
Cosmeca Korea, a company specializing in cosmetics R & D and manufacturing production, announced on the 28th that it has acquired MUI certification, which is a Halal certification in Indonesia. As a result, Cosmeca Korea has laid the groundwork for supplying halal cosmetics aimed at Muslim consumers.
Halal means 'God's permission' and collectively refers to products, foods, medicines, and cosmetics produced in a manner recognized by Islamic law. Muslims accounts for 25% of the world's population, and as the status of Muslim women and the purchasing power of young people increase, the potential for growth in the halal cosmetics market is also highly regarded.
Through rigorous document review and on-site due diligence, Cosmeca Korea uses △ raw materials excluding animal origin such as pigs, △ carries out customized prescriptions for halal cosmetics, △ operates a dedicated tools and facilities that meet halal conditions to produce halal products.
