Tous Les Jours, a South Korean bakery franchise operated by CJ Foodville, acquired halal certification issued by MUI, Indonesia's halal certification body in January, 2020. As a result, all stores of Tous Les Jours in Indonesia sell only halal products. In addition, Tous Les Jours production facilities located in Bekasi, West Java also secured halal certification to prepare a basis for mass production of halal products.

Indonesia is the single largest Muslim country with 2.3 billion Muslims, about 90% of the total population. Halal food consumption is about 200 trillion won, the largest in the world. In October 2019, the Indonesian government implemented the “Halal Products Assurance Act”, which mandates the halal / non-halal classification of all products. Indonesia is showing its steps to foster its own halal industry and become a country that leads the global halal economy.

"Tous Les Jours has focused on mutual growth of local communities and businesses through the OVOP (One Village One Product) program last year, a local product development cooperation project," said Hyun-deuk Ko, director of CJ Foodville Indonesia. According to him, "Acquiring the halal certification is also essential for Tous Les Jours' sustainable growth and regional coexistence. "
