Korea walks on Singapore HALAL BLOCKCHAIN PLATFORM?
WhatsHalal's Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Hadi Rahmad and Chief Technology Officer Mr. Lim Hong Chuan visited KIHI (Korea Institute of Halal Industry) on July 16th. WhatsHalal is a Singapore's Halal blockchain startup.
The meeting was attended by Dr. James Noh, Director General of KIHI, Mr. Song Hak Kyu, Managing Director of Sejung Shipping, Mr. Kim Ju Choeng, Senior Researcher of KTL and Mr. Hong Kyeong Chul, CEO of CXL Life Care. They are the members of Korea's first halal logistics pilot project led by Sejung Shipping and sponsored by Korea Food Research Institute.
WhatsHalal is building a blockchain-based Halal supply chain platform that connects Halal certification bodies, Halal product producers, Halal logistics providers, distributors and consumers. The company recently signed an MOU with Sucofindo, Indonesia's largest inspection body. Indonesia will require halal certification for consumer goods such as food and cosmetics from October 17 this year.
The meeting focused on WhatsHalal's business and exchanged views on the possibility of linking the company's platform with Korea's Halal logistics supply chain.
